The 2025 Water Leasing Application is Now Open

The purpose of the Water Leasing program is to reduce overall water demand and increase the flexibility of the District’s water resources as we work to balance competing needs of Irrigation Delivery, New Mexico’s Rio Grande Compact deliveries, and supporting endangered species.

This year irrigators are offered $300/acre for a Partial Season Lease and $600/acre for a Full Season lease. The enrollment period is open until February 15, 2025.
