CORRALES-AREA IRRIGATION DELIVERIES SUSPENDED

April 21, 2026

River levels have declined below the threshold required for pumping operations, and irrigation deliveries to the Corrales service area are being suspended.

Irrigation deliveries in the Corrales area rely on temporary pumping operations that lift water from the Rio Grande into the Corrales Main Canal. These pumps require sufficient river levels to function. When river levels fall below operational limits, pumping must be suspended and deliveries halted.

MRGCD has continued pumping operations as long as conditions allowed, despite ongoing challenging water conditions. However, river levels have now declined to a point where the pumps can no longer effectively draw water from the river.

MRGCD will continue to monitor river conditions closely, with the hope of resuming deliveries to the Corrales area as soon as river levels allow.
