About MRGCD
The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District operates and maintains irrigation, drainage, and river flood control systems throughout the Middle Rio Grande Valley. The district also promotes responsible water management, works to protect the environment and wildlife in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies, and provides multi-use recreational opportunities throughout the middle valley.
- Serves 11,000 irrigators, six pueblos & 100,000 parcels of land throughout the middle valley
- Owns and manages 30,000 acres of bosque
- Maintains facilities required to upkeep the agricultural production in the Middle Rio Grande Valley
- Employs more than 200 New Mexicans
